Bangalore: Those political observers and analysts who were talking or writing about Tourism minister Gali Janardhana Reddy joining hands with Devegowda’s family (especially son Kumaraswamy) behind the back of CM Yeddyurappa, are in for surprise, because it was Reddy who had charged CM Kuamaraswamy in 2006 about collecting Rs. 150 crores in bribes when HDK misused his power between 2005-08 to mine 1.51 lakhs of metric tones of iron ore then and to export it to China through New Mangalore Port as overcharges (in bribes).
The episode is now under reconsideration, to be presented to Lokayukta for a full probe, and to report back, before Justice Hegde’s retirement in August next as Lokayukta.
This was disclosed in a press meet held by CM’s political secretary B.J Puttaswamy on Tuesday. The attempt to rake up the graft issue of 2005-06 has put the Gowda family on shame and alert in their wordy duals with CM Yeddyurappa now, who broached the matter only on Monday. If H.D Kumaraswamy is caught, it is a big fish for Lokayukta.
The matter relates to BSK Trading Co. run by Devegowda family, and it did not earn much from 2001 to 2005 then.
