Bangalore: The staff of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly Secretariat chose to kill a very much alive former MLA, by sending a condolence letter to the ex-MLA’s family, much to their horror.
The mix up came to light when the family of NV Patil, former MLA of Ramdurg received the condolence letter signed by the Under Secretary and stating that Patil had died on July 7. The letter was received by the family when Patil was away.
Patil who returned home later has warned of filing a defamation case against those responsible for the mix-up. He said it was the heights of irresponsibility. What came to light later on was that the ex-MLA of another constituency had died and there was some mix-up in the records.
Even Speaker KG Bopaiah has assured to look into the matter and initiate action against the guilty.
