Mangalore : A handicraft and Textiles Expo was arranged today at Woodlands Hotel Hall in city near Bunts’ Hostel, by Indian Textiles Ministry and North Eastern Handicrafts / Handloom Development Corporation jointly.
Local MP, Nalinkumar Kateelu inaugurated the Textiles Fair. Speaking on the occasion, he said that a dying tradition of the Far Eastern Hills was protected by the Central Govt, and the scheme is praiseworthy.
The fair runs from today (July 20) upto Aug. 8 from 10 Am to 9 Pm with 8 states participating, such as Assam and Nagaland, with their famous and artistic pieces kept for sale, said P Sashidhar, Asst. Director of Extension Centre of Handicrafts and services at Delhi, when pressmen asked him. Several dignitaries were present at the fair inaugural and went round the 64 stalls.
