Bangalore : Harekala Hajabba, the humble orange seller who has realized his vision of having a primary and high school in his hometown, despite himself being an illiterate, was conferred the ‘Ramzan Saab Award’ by Akhila Karnataka Mahamadeeyara Sangha at a function held here.
Prof. Baraguru Ramachandrappa, veteran writer spoke on the occasion and was all praise for Harekala Hajabba and his achievements.
He was also highly critical of the government policy of closing down schools with poor student strength.
