Moodabidre: In devotion to God, it is feeling that counts, and songs should be recited to great feeling for God, as these hymns are like a consecration of one’s soul to the Almighty, said Jain Guru Bhattarka Charukeerthi Panditacharya at a workshop inaugurated by him on Kirtana, at Moodabidre D.J.H.P. school premises, organised by a Mangalore internet newspaper on Friday.
The Jain sage told children in the gathering to imbibe the idea of singing Bhajan songs as devotees of God, to earn religious merit and joy.
Pratap Kumar of DJVV Sangha presided. A leading Harikirtan performer of Moodabidre, Umesh Kamath, was honoured by the jain sage on the occasion.
Jounalist Ganesh Kamath delivered a lecture on Sankirtan Tradition in Moodabidre.
TP councillor M. Bahubali Prasad, K. Sripathi Bhat, Modhav Bhat, Ramakrishna Shirur, and Umesh Prasad, among others, were present. Siripura Cultural Foundation Collaborated in the programme.
