Mangaluru: Beltangady Block Congress President and Billava community leader Harish Kumar has been appointed as the District Congress Committee President, as per KPCC president Dr G Parameshwar direction, District minister in-charge B Ramanath Rai announced new presidents appointment on June 27.

After Ramanath Rai become the Karnataka state government cabinet ministe, Kodijal Ibrahim was the Interim President of District Congress.

Newly appointed Dakshina Kannada District Congress Committee (DCC) President Harish Kumar said that his party would win all state assembly seats in Dakshina Kannada district in the upcoming elections expected to be held in 2018.

He said that, he and his party would try their best to win all 8 assembly seats in the next elections by adding one more representative to the existing elected members in the state assembly from Dakshina Kannada.

There are minor issues within the party and such problems can’t damage the unity and integrity of the party in the district. All leaders, workers would work to strengthen the party further in the district, he said.

MLA J R Lobo, District Youth Congress President Mithun Rai, Ibrahim Kodijal, Padmanabh Naringana, Shalet Pinto, Vishwas Das, Naveen D’Souza and others were also present.
