Kasargod : The very next day of two women of menstruating age entering to the Sabarimala Ayyappa shrine on Wednesday, the bundh call given by the Sabarimala Samrakshana Samithi, BJP and Sangh Parivar on Thursday has evoked good response in Kasargod.
The hartal, which began at 6 am, by various pro-Hindutva groups, spearheading protests against the Supreme Court’s September 28 verdict, and Antarrashtriya Hindu Parishad (AHP).
Private and government buses are off roads. Only a few private vehicles are seen. Even bus services between Mangaluru and Kasargod have come to a halt.
Though road blockades were created at several places this morning, the police who swung into action have removed the same and allowed free movement of vehicles.
In Neelashwara, miscreants have vandalised the BJP office late night on Wednesday. The AKG Mandir at Periya Kalliyat has also been damaged by miscreants.
Violent protests erupted across Kerala after two women in their forties entered Sabarimala temple, with a BJP worker, who was injured in violence at Pandalam, in Pathanamthitta district, succumbing to injuries late on Wednesday.
