Mangalore: The Ekalavya Award conferred on Mangalorean roller skater Sharanya Mahesh has been withdrawn by the Karnataka High Court which has ordered that the award be conferred to HA Prajna from Mysore in the same category, for the year 2010.

The High Court issued the order in response to a petition filed by Prajna challenging the selection of Sharanya for the Award on the grounds that she scored more points than Sharanya.

As per the rules, one should have represented the state for five consecutive years, and Prajna was eligible in this regard as Sharanya did not participate in 2007 nationals.
