Bangalore: An enquiry into the alleged denotification of a suburban land by former CM HD Kumaraswamy in 2007, was ordered by state Lokayukta special court on Monday, on the basis of a private complaint served by one Madhuswamy.
Judge N.K. Sudheendra Rao who had sent Yeddyurappa to jail earlier, has asked the Ombudsman police force to investigate the alleged irregularities coming under Section 156/3 of Cr.P.Code, and to report back by Feb. 6 next.
Madhuswamy charged that HDK had freed 3.8 acres of land from state (KIADB) control, at Thanisandra village acquired by BDA for forming a residential lay-out near the Arkavathy lake on city’s outskirts. HDK was CM from Feb 2006 to Oct 2007.
The then minister C. Chennigappa (now MP, like HDK) was involved as co-accused in the case, it was alleged. It was the second land scam faced by HDK, who is also named in N.S. Hegde’s final report for illegal Wealth made in 2 graft cases in 2011, relating to Bellary mining of iron ore.
