Bangalore: JD(S) State President and former chief minister HD Kumaraswamy has said that even the Congress which was in power in the state for long had failed to secure justice in the Cauvery ad Krishna water disputes.
Speaking at a meet the press programme organized by the Press Club of Bangalore and Bangalore Reporters Guild, he said both the Congress and the BJP have failed to protect the interests of the state.
Kumaraswamy exuded confidence that the people of the state would vote the JD(S) to power in the next elections and added his party if elected world reduce the VAT to 12.5 per cent from the exiting 14.5 per cent.
He said there was no question of a hung assembly after the next election as the JD(S) would emerge as the single largest party. He said neither the BSR Party nor the new party which former CM Yeddyurappa was likely to float would make any impact on poll prospects of his party.
