Bantwal: Four persons are critically injured as a result of head on collision between a lorry and KSRTC bus at Manihalla near Bantwal on Tuesday.

Four persons including the drivers of both the vehicles have been injured and along with them other six members have sustained with minor injuries, it is reported.

The bus was plying from Mangaluru to Dharmasthala and the lorry was going towards B C Road.

Timely intervention of the DySP Raveesh C R and police jeep driver Satyaprakash saved the lives of injured persons. As it was heavily raining and the front portion of both the vehicles were damaged badly, it was difficult to pull out injured persons.

DySP Raveesh and Satyaprakash succeeded in pulling the injured persons out of the vehicles and without waiting for ambulance, injured were taken to the hospital in the department vehicle only.

A case has been registered at Bantwal traffic police station.
