Bantwal: 4 (four) skeletons were found buried at a spot in Balepuni Village (Bantwal taluk), near Konje on Friday, March 2 while workers were digging land to lay foundation pillars for a room in Mudungarakatte school for the headmistress, who might have fled the place in terror.
The room made to be constructed under projects sanctioned from a grant made local ZP member.
The skeletons were historic as they were 300 years old and they were left in their places by workers, who continued their work after some initial hesitation.
The school committee chief said that Hanafi Muslims were residing in the area over 3 centuries ago and their mosque and burial grounds were located here. The school was founded 120 years back.
The school teacher said he would consult religious persons and go a head with the work.
Certain Muslim scholars tendered the advice, to bury the skeletons honorably, without giving rise to complications or debates.
No ghost perhaps would brother, if the skeletons.
Were re-buried together as was the practice 300 years before.
