Mangalore : The health condition of Saalumarada Thimmakka, is said to be improving after being admitted to Apollo Hospital in Jayanagar on September 11, Tuesday.
Thimmakka, who has planted 400 trees worth Rs 4 crores on the Nelamangala-Hassan highway for the society. Thimmakka who lost her husband at the age of 91 has no one to look after her at the hospital and only cared by her adopted son. She was getting only Rs 400 monthly wage.
Thimakka has been admitted in room number 3013 of Apollo hospital in Jayanagar and is being treated by to Dr Umesh. Although she has become physically weak and voice has become soft and suffering from a serious breathing problem, doctors assured that she will be fine.
Ex Prime Minster Deve Gowda has agreed to borne the medical expenses of her, while Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) President G Parameshwara urged Health Minister U.T. Khader to borne the medical expense from the State government.
Minister said that the hospitals should bear the medical expenses of eminent personalities like Saalumarada Thimmakka and if they cannot pay then State government pay it, he said.
