Bangalore : In a surprise move stat Gov’t decided to ban Gutka, Pan Parag in a decree signed by CM on may 30th.
The unanimous decision came in a meeting attended by district medical officials and district administrators who supported the ban on health ground.
Gutka is banned in 24 states and 3 centrally administrated areas so far In India.
Health Minister Khader opined that health of the people is paramount and alternative arrangements will be made for the areca growers in the state. The stunned areca growers are set to be in touch with MLA’s and ministers specially from Malnadu and coastal area in this regard.
