Mangalore: Mangalore and various places of Dakshina Kannada district has been experiencing heavy rains since the past couple of days leading to inundation of several low lying areas. The pilgrim town of Subrahamanya too is experiencing incessant rains and water level in Kumaradhara has also seen a rise. In Mangalore three electricity poles have collapsed due to heavy rains. However, no casualty has been reported as power supply was cut off no sooner the poles touched the ground.
The adverse weather conditions also affected the landing and taking off of flights from Mangalore airport.
Heavy rains has been reported from Sullia and the Payaswini river and the rivulet ts are overflowing. In Ullal, several places including Kallaup have been inundated.
Even the sea has turned rough and fishermen are not venturing into the seas for fishing purposes.
