Sullia : Unprecedented downpour in the region has led to landslides and damage to the Mangalore-Madikeri road.
Cracks have been developed on the stretch of the road between Koinadu and Devarakodi. Though traffic has been banned, it was allowed following public portests. The SI finally allowed vehicles on either side of the crack.
The crack was first seen at Garemuri near the forest office on July 29. It is believed that the heavy rains and sub-standard work was the reason for the damage. The traffic on Sullia-Madikeri stretch has been affected.
Locals now want the authorities to repair the road at the earliest though reports say it may take another three months for the road to be fully motorable.
