Kasargod : Heavy rains that lashed various parts of Kasargod district  on April 29, Monday. The rains were accompanied by thunder and lighting and caused extensive damage. One person also died due to lightning strike, while two others were  injured.

One Nalinaksh who had ventured into fishing was struck by lightning and killed. Two others namely Diwaker and Raja were injured. The house belonging to one MK Majid at Cheroor was damaged due to lightning strike. Majid’s wife Ayesha was injured. The children luckily escaped unhurt. Several electronic equipment in the house of Abbas at Cheroorugude were also damaged.

As many as 12 houses were damaged in  Perla while four houses collapsed in Enmakaje.St Lawrence Church in Maniyampare and Sri Sharadamba high school in Shen were also damaged. Loss of crop was also reported at several places.
