Puttur : Water levels in Netravathi river and Kumaradhara river are rising towards the danger level, thanks to the heavy rains that have been lashing the region since the past two days.
The heavy rains have left several low lying areas inundated. The Hosamutt bridge was submerged on Monday and shops in the vicinity of Subrahmanya Temple also faced problems due to water clogging.
Normal life has been disrupted even in Bantwal with several areas affected due to inundation.
In Kodagu: With incessant rains lashing all over the Kodagu, the district administration has declared holidays for schools and colleges for two days. A bridge at Ballamavuti was also submerged and several houses in the vicinity flooded.
In Srimangala, the wall of a mosque has collapsed and several poor people living in hutments have been evacuated to safer locations. Bhagamandala, the confluence of the Cauvery, Sujyoti and Kannike rivers, is overflowing.
