Mangalore : Two Bangalore based college’s engineering students drowned at Panambur beach on October 22, Friday at around 5 .15 pm.
The deceased have been identified as Karthik (20) and Parikshith (20), who belong to Sir M Visveswarayya Institute of Technology situated at Hunasamaranahalli in Bangalore.
According to sources, a group of 7-8 students as a part of pleasure trip went to the Panambur beach, who had attended a programme at NITK College.
The students were seen enjoying their evening in the beach even at the lush of heavy rain, sooner they witnessed a huge tide, which dragged three of their friends away.
The local fishermen and policemen have succeeded in rescuing one among three, Lohith (20) while their effort to save other two failed.
After the bodies of Karthik and Parikshith were recovered, it was shifted to the mortuary in Suratkal.
In this regard, a case has been registered at Surathkal police station.
