Udupi : One Padmanabha Salian (55) a resident of Hejamady  has been reported drowned in the Shambhavi River after he ventured into fishing. The deceased is the husband of Varadakshi Salian, Priesident of the Hejamady GP.

It is learnt, Salian ventured into fishing along with one Purushottam Suvarna on Wednesday morning never to return alive. Reports said Suvarna’s attempts to save Salian from drowning proved futile due to heavy rains.

Kaup MLA Lalaji Mendon and former minister Vasanth Salian consoled  the family and assured to secure compensation.
