Hephsiba Rani Korlapati has appointed as new commissioner for Mangalore City Corporation

Hephsiba RaniMangaluru : The state government finally announced  a new commissioner for Mangalore City Corporation, on Dec. 31, 2014 end.

Hephsiba Rani Korlapati, hails from Vijaywada, Andhra Pradesh an IAS Officer has appointed as the Commissioner of Mangaluru City Corporation on Wednesday.

She is a 2011 batch IAS officer and had secured 20th rank in the UPSC examination. She earlier served as the assistant commissioner of Basavakalyana sub-division in Bidar.

Hephsiba did her BA from Osmania University, Hyderabad and MA in Geography from Delhi School of Economics. She will take charge on Thursday, 1 January, 2015.

MCC commissioner Ajit Kumar Hegde Shanadi was sent on training to Hyderabad and he was replaced by H. Prasanna. However, reportedly due to political conflicts, the latter was transferred in a few days and Ajit Hegde Shanadi was re-appointed. However, his appointment was not given official nod from the government. Meanwhile, Gokul Nayak functioned as the interim MCC commissioner.
