Kundapur : The Karnataka High Court has granted bail to one of the accused in the case of murder of RTI activist Vasudeva Adiga in January.
On March 6, Wednesday, a single bench of the Court granted bail to Subrahmanya Udupa on a surety of Rs 2 lakhs and signatures by two witnesses.
Earlier on March 5, the public prosecutor had filed his objection to the bail stating that it may come in the way of investigation. But, the court granted bail on Wednesday. Advocates BV Acharya and Jagannath Alva argued the case for Udupa.
Vasudeva Adiga who was kidnapped while he was on his way home in his bike on the evening of January 7, was found dead in a lake at Kadur in Chikmagalur five days later.So far the police have arrested a total of seven persons in this sensational case.
