Bangalore : The Karnataka High Court, has on June 5, Tuesday granted conditional bail to KGF MLA Y Sampangi who was recently jailed by the Lokayukta Special Court after convicting him in a bribery case.

The High Court while granting the conditional bail has withheld the punishment of imprisonment given to Sampangi. The High Court has asked Sampangi to deposit a bond of Rs 3 lakhs, to appear before the High Court or Lokayukta court whenever summoned and not to leave the nation without permission.

The court will continue hearing in this case on June 18 to decide on the matter of whether the punishment given to Sampangi should be cancelled or not.
