Mangalore : Membes of the Hindu Jana Jagrithi Samithi staged a protest in front of the DC office on August 30, Friday demanding a ban on the novel’Dhundhi’ which reportedly offended Lord Ganesha. The Samithi also demanded a separate legislation that prevents such acts of offending Indian Gods and Goddesses.
Sukanya Achar, Member of Sanathana Samsthe, who spoke on the occasion said the novel author Yogish Master had hurt the sentiments of the crores of Hindus in India by depicting Lord Ganesha in poor light. The author intends to gain publicity through cheap gimmicks, she alleged.
Kumar Malemar, Vice President of Sri Rama Sene demanded registering of a criminal case against the author and legal action against him.
Prasanna Kamath, State Spokesman of Hindu Jana Jagrithi Samithi, Mohan Gowda, Sangeetha Prabhu of Sanathana Samsthe and others were present.
