Mangaluru : The Hindu Mahasabha has demanded a ban on the Akshay Kumar’s ’Laxmmi Bomb’ which to be released on November 9.
Speaking to reporters here on October 27, Tuesday, Regional Secretary of the Mahasabha Dharmendra said the movie not only hurts the sentiments of the Hindu community but also promotes Love Jihad.
He alleged that the movie named after Goddess Laxmi was being deliberately released during Deepavali. Dharmendra also said the movie is about an affair between a Muslim boy and a Hindu girl and supports Love Jihad. He also took exception to the Akshay Kumar dance in the movie holding a trident in hand and in red saree and behaving like a third gender as seen in the trailer. This not only insults Goddess Laxmi but also transgenders, he said.
State Convenor Jagan Kumar questioned whether the movie producers would make similar movies with Muslim names and release them during Eid.
Hindu Mahasabha office bearers Vasanth Amin, Dhanraj Poojary, Sujeer Shetty and others were present.
