Mangalore : A tribute has been held at Mahalingeswar Temple, Pandeswara on 22nd June for the Pilgrims who died in North Indian floods by Bajrangadal and Vishwahindu Parishad cadres. In a function held at the premises of Mahalingeswar Temple, a prayer meeting and pooja were held for the memory of who died in a flash flood in North India and also for the speedy recovery of those who survived the ordeal.
The community prayer started with Shri Rama Tharaka Manthra followed by Panchakshari Mantra and Hanuman Chalees for those who lost their lives while visiting Hindu holy places and also for those who survived. A special request has been made to State and Central Govt to help those who lost everything in this natural disaster for the reconstruction and rehabilitation. Several speakers urged Govts and voluntary organizations to rebuild destroyed temples at an earliest.
Shri Krishnamurthy, Area Secrtery Vishwa hindu parishad spoke on the occasion. Shri Shridar Bhat, Manohar Thulajaram, Gopal Kutthar, Sharan Pumpwell, Shivananda Mendon, Jagadish Shenava, Jithendra Kottari, Bujanga Kulal ,Dr Anantha Krishna Bhatt, Dinesh Pai and Gopal Krishna Shenoy were present.
