Mangalore : Following a clash between Hindus of Mallur area and another community of same area the accused persons were not caught at that time. In view of this clash certain aggrieved persons among hindus went to the police station and protested that the police have failed to catch hold of culprits who were moving round the area carelessly.
The protestors – including Hindu samrakshan vedike, VHP, Bjrandal, Sri Ram Sene, Hindu Yuva sene and others organaised a bitter confrontation Nonember 6th 2013 at Mangalore Rural Police Station.
They threatened the police that they would them self catch hold of the culprits known to them and hand them over to the police. The protest will intensified in the mean time if the police did take proper action.
The protest was led by Moodushedde, taluk panchyath president Harish, who said that the police have not bothered to arrest the real culprits who were roaming around the place freely and that the central and state government are anti Hindu and did not protect the majority community.
Vishwa Hindu Parishad leader Jagadish senava who also spoke at the meeting pointed out that earlier protest were not consider by the police at the proper time within three days and they were given more time to catch the culprits. Following the latest threat by protesters the police have come round and assured that they would arrest the culprits in the next five days. The protest ended with the warning that if police cheated again Nermarga bundh will be observed immediately, followed by a Mangalore bundh call if necessary.
VHP, Bajarang Dal, Sri Ram Sene, Hindu Yuva Sene leaders Sharan Pumpwell, Kumar Malemar, Jeethendra Kottary, Veerappa Moodushedde, Pradeep Pumpwell, Puneeth Pumpwell, Bhujanga Kulal and others were present amidst tight police security.
