Mangalore: The Mangalore unit of the Hindu Yuva Sene and the Nagarika Horata Samithi of Alape, Padil have strongly condemned the police action against the local corporator Mohan Padil in connection with the Morning Mist Home Stay attack.
Speaking to reporters, Vasudeva Bhat, Convenor of the Hindu Yuva Sena also demanded action against a TV channel reporter Naveen Soorinje, who, he said had falsely stated that the corporator was drunk when he had arrived at Morning Mist Home Stay during the time of the raid.
He said Padil was a social activist who has helped the locality and was also a religious man who was involved in various religious activities. He said Padil was taken into custody on the day of the attack for no reason and claimed that Padil had been to the area to take stock of the situation as a local corporator.
Bhat further alleged that on the day of the attack, the cops pulled Mohan Padil and took him by his collar to the jeep even when informed that he was the corporator.
Hindu Yuva Sene leaders Anand Saripalla, Mohan Nuji, Yashodhara Chowta Ekkur and Padmanabha Navur and others were present on the occasion.
