Mangaluru: About 1200 years history of Shree Maroli Suryanarayana temple preparing for Punar Pratiste and Ashta Bandha Brahmakalashotsava after the one hundred year of renovation. The vedic programmes to be held from April 17 to April 26 said, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel.
Briefing the programme details to the press persons here on Wednesday, April 13, The renovation committee honorary president MP Nalin Kumar Kateel Said, Dakshina Kannada is a land of temples and renovation work of various temples is going on. The Suryanarayana temple holds a historical significance.The renovation work of temple in Maroli was started four years ago, he added.
About Rs. 15 crore has been spent so far on renovation work of the temple. Another Rs 3 crore may be required to complete the renovation work. People of this district have contributed generously towards the renovation of this temple. We thank them for their support and contribution” he said.
Bramhakalashotsava will be held from April 17 to 26 and about 10 lakh devotees are expected to visit the temple. Various spiritual and cultural programmes will be held everyday from 6 pm to 8 pm.
Sri,Sri Sri Keshavananda Bharati Swamiji, Veda Murti Laxminaraya Ashranna, Sri,Sri Sri Kalahastendra Swamiji, Sri Charukirthi Bhattakara Swamiji, Sri,Sri Sri Sugunendra Thirtha Swamiji, Sri,Sri Sri Nrusimhasrama Swamiji, Sri,Sri Sri Vidyavallabha Swamiji, Sri K.S Nityananda, Sri,Sri Sri Vidyaprasanna Thirtha Swamiji and Sports minister Abhaychandra Jain, Mangaluru South MLA J R Lobo, Sullia MLA S Angara, MLC Kota Srinivas Poojary, MLC Ganesh Karnik, chancellor of Nitte University Vinaya Hegde, MCC mayor Harinath and many other dignitaries will attend the Brahmakalashotsava.
The renovation committee was headed by myself and district in charge minister Ramanath Rai. Balakrishna Kottari, K P Shetty and Giridar Shetty are renovation committee members.
