Udupi : Founder of Hitech Medicare Hospital, Udupi TV Rao passed away on June 19, Wednesday. He was 84.

Rao who was from Mattu Katapady was the founder president of Mattu Sandeepani High School and Mattu Vidyavardhaka Sangha. He was also the former  president of Kaup Block Congress Committee and member of undivided Dakshina Kannada Congress Committee

He is survived by his sons Dr T S Rao and Hitech Medicare administrator Pradeep Kumar and  daughter Dr Jhanavi Rao. He had also served Syndicate Bank for several decades and was the former president of Mattu Manjula Yakshagana Kala Mandali. He was also an Yakshagana artiste.
