Mangaluru: The Hindu Janajagruti Samithi staged a protest against the entry of women of all ages into the Sabarimala temple and urged the government to bring an ordinance to restore as before.
The protest was organised in front of the DC office on Monday, October 22.
Speaking the protesters, Hindu Janajagruti Samiti District Coordinator Chandra Mogera said, the Kerala government should take the opinions of religious leaders. However, no such measures were taken prior to issuing the verdict, the religious sentiments of Hindus were hurt., he said.
Protesters handed over a memorandum addressed to the Governor to the deputy commissioner.
Madhusudhan Ayyar, Sathish Urwa, Shashidhar Baliga, B V Jayaram, Vasanth Shetty Deralakatte, Ramesh Sharavu, Anand Shetty, Veerappa, Nithyananda and Geetha Shetty Adyar among others were present.
