Mangalore : State Home Minister KJ George visited the Bishop House here on June 19 Wednesday. Fr Oniel D’Souza, Spokesperson of the Diocese welcomed the Home Minister.
The new minister was felicitated on the occasion by Fr Denis Moras Prabhu.
Parish Priest of Milagres Church Fr Valerian D’Souza, Mangalore South MLA JR Lobo, Corporator Naveen D’Souza, Congress leader Ibrahim Kodijal and others were present on the occasion.
The Home Minister interacted with several people present at the Bishop House. He said the government would give top priority to end moral policing. He said he has instructed the police department to initiate strict action against moral policemen. The government cannot tolerate anyone taking law into their hands, the minister said.
He also said he was aware that the justice has been denied to the Christian community in the church attack case. He said the Somasekhara Commission’s interim report though was favourable to the Christian community, the final report failed to do justice. He said he would discuss the issue at the ministry level.
The Minister also visited Kudroli Temple and Zeenath Baksh Mosque in Mangalore.
