Mangalore: The bail applications of 17 persons arrested in connection the Morning Mist Homestay attack, have been rejected by a local court. The order on the bail petitions of three other accused will be pronounced by  the first additional District and Sessions court on August 31.The main accused Subhash Padil and co-accused Ganesh however have not moved the court for bail.

The accused whose bail petitions were rejected are: Sharath, Tharanath Kannur, Rajesh, Chethan, Sunil, Harish, Shailesh, Puneeth, Varun Poojary, Kiran Poojary, Suresh Poojary, Mithun Poojary, Sampath, Deepak, Ramesh Kotian, Jagadish and Nithin.

Police meanwhile have arrested Dinesh of Nanthoor and Puneeth of Battragudde in connection with the home stay attack, taking the total number of arrests to 24. They have been sent to 14 days of judicial custody.
