Bantwal: Honest men are rare in this material world. But as a silver lining there are a few sincere men on this earth who are honest to the core.
Abdul Sattar of Goodinabali, an autorickshaw driver is known for his honesty which have been proved on a couple of occasions earlier.
Recently, he once again proved himself honest by returning the bag of valuables left in his autorickshaw to its rightful owners.
In one instance, Sattar proved a good Samaritan to Lalitha Salian who was in a burry to board a night bus to Bangalore from BC Road, when she had forgotten her purse containing valuables in the bus stop.
Sattar who was at the spot, noticed it and rushed to the woman and her family and returned the bag. Though the family offered him a reward, he kindly refused the same.
In another instance, Vijaya Rao, teacher in SVS School of Bantwal had left behind her bag in the auto of Sattar while on way to Narikombu from BC Road. However, when she realized it was too late. But, as she knew Sattar, she along with her husband went to his house. But Sattar had not yet returned and so she telephoned him and he immediately swung into action, found the bag in his auto and returned it to its rightful owner. The bag had a gold chain, cash and a mobile phone.
He has returned gold left behind in bags in his auto on a couple of occasions and has even been honored as Netravathi Veera.
