Mangaluru : The SDM College of Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences, Ujire using honey. They were exhibited at the two-day honey-cum organic mela which began at Kadri Park on Saturday.
It was organised by the Department of Horticulture, Dakshina Kannada. The students had prepared ‘momos’, a popular snack of Nepal, too.
Department of AYUSH exhibited ayurveda products and those made of honey. The department has been distributing pamphlets to visitors highlighting the importance of honey, its uses and how it should not be used.
There were bee boxes and live bee colonies at the mela.
Minister for Higher Education and Law and Parliamentary Affairs T.B. Jayachandra inaugurated the mela. Varieties of honey have been displayed and farmers were selling organically grown vegetables.
