Mangalore : A police team led by Puttur ASP, Amit Singh and SI of Vitla, Srijit, raided Hotel Amith restaurant on Monday night (June 28) for unauthorized sale of liquor and seized loaded beer, empty bottles and glasses used by customers, to register a case of consumption of illicit liquor at the premises. Hotel workers were arrested and grilled by the police. The hotel staff revealed that ‘5 star wines’ a shop attached to the hotel nearby supplied the wines to the management, which had no licence to serve, but only to sell wine bottles.
The Hotel building belonged to J. Salian, Vice President of DKZP in Mangalore. The Hotel was managed by two residents of Vitla Town. The Police registered cases under state Excise Act under Sections 3, 15 and 32 against the managers Devappa and Giriappa Pujary.
