Mangaluru : The city police have arrested a man for posting derrogatory remarks against Minister for Food and Civil Supplies U T Khader on Facebook.

The arrested is Divyaprasad (35), a native of Moodbidri. He was arrested in Bengaluru as he was working as a supervisor in a hotel. Divyaprasad had reportedly posted a derogatory comment on Facebook against Khader related to his ‘Hello Minister’ programme. The arrested has been remanded in judicial custody. A case has been registered under IPC Section 507 and Section 67 of the IT Act.

An entrepreneur was killed when the car in which he was travelling in met with an accident after hitting a drain, near Kemplaje temple in Moodbidri on Thursday night.Rakesh Shetty was a resident of Siddakatte. He was serving as the administrative committee president of Poonja Temple. He was returning home with his two friends from Moodbidri when the accident occurred.
