Mangalore : The Mangalore City Corporation officials who have continued their raiding spree, on Friday targeted some of the hotels in the prominent Hampankatta area in Mangalore and asked one of them ‘Hotel Shantisagar’ to close down immediately for lack of cleanliness.
On Friday four hotels and three hostels were raided. Even the Sagar, Suvarna and Pereira hotels were served notices to maintain cleanliness.
The Shanti Sagar was hotel was sealed and a penalty was slapped on the owners and they were asked to initiate remedial measures within seven days lest the licence would stand cancelled.
Two ladies hostels, one of Expert and another Sri Sai hostel near SDM College were raided but the cleanliness aspect was to the satisfaction of the raiding team.
The raid was at the directive of MCC Commissioner Harish Kumar and the raiding team included Environment Inspector Madhu, SN Bhat Health officer and other staff.
