Kundapur :  A house  at Ankadakatte in Koteshwar was gutted in a fire mishap on April 1, Monday night. The house belonged to one Sumathi.

The occupants of the house who were fast asleep woke up on hearing the cracking sound of the fire destroying things in one of the rooms. Though the fire tender vehicles rushed to the spot and locals too rushed in to help in dousing the fire, it had already done much damaged. Several valuables including gold ornaments, documents etc were destroyed in the fire. The total loss has been estimated at Rs 10 lakh.

The house owner Sumathi who is distraught, says she has lost all her belongings including her clothes.

Koteshwar Gram Panchayat Village Accountant Jagadish and several officials visited the spot and assured help to the family which has lost all its belongings in the fire.
