Mangaluru : The National Institute of Personnel Management (NIPM), Mangaluru Chapter, successfully hosted the HR Open House Meet 2025 on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at the A J Grand Hotel, Mangaluru, under the theme “Compliance Today, Resilience Tomorrow.” This event aimed to empower HR leaders for better compliance and operational excellence in today’s rapidly evolving industrial landscape.
The keynote address by Shri Sobins Kuriakose, Consultant, World Bank, New Delhi, emphasized the need to view compliance positively as a driver of efficiency rather than a source of fear. He stressed that compliance should align with organizational effectiveness, fostering trust and long-term growth.
Shri K. Shekar, Chief Labour Commissioner (Central), Ministry of Labour & Employment, underscored the dual importance of compliance and resilience for HR leaders. He highlighted compliance as the backbone of operational integrity, emphasizing its role in mitigating penalties, reputational risks, and lost opportunities. Shri Shekar also called for fostering a culture of accountability and remaining proactive in navigating regulatory changes. He further briefed on the position of labour codes implementation by presenting the overview of those codes.
Shri B. Sudarshan, Executive Director (Refinery), MRPL, elaborated on the need for HR leaders to align compliance and resilience in creating sustainable and adaptable organizations. On resilience, he advocated for equipping HR teams to handle technological disruptions, economic uncertainties, and employee well-being challenges with agility and innovation, ultimately enabling industries to thrive in the face of change.
Shri K. Srinivas, Director of Factories, Boilers, Industrial Safety & Health, Government of Karnataka, emphasized technology era, data-driven decision-making, and innovation in building future-ready organizations. He stressed upon the role of welfare officers in the organisation by explaining the best practices followed in different corporates to the forum.
During the program NIPM Mangaluru Chapter honored its event partners, including MRPL, IOCL, MCF, and SRF, for their valuable contributions. The winners of the National Business Quiz at the chapter level from Sri Devi Institute of Business Administration, TAPMI, Manipal and School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya were recognized and felicitated. The latest edition of HR Connect E-Journal (Volume 4) was officially unveiled during the event, marking a significant milestone in disseminating valuable HR insights.
The HR Open House Meet 2025 concluded successfully, fostering meaningful discussions and innovative ideas among HR professionals, industry leaders, and thought partners. The event emphasized the interconnected roles of compliance and resilience in driving organizational growth and sustainability. The event was witnessed by 150 plus HR professionals of the region.
