Belthangady :  A huge protest  and a vehicle rally was taken out from Dharmasthala to Belthangady on November 10, Friday demanding  a thorough probe into the rape and murder case of SDM college sudent Sowjanya.A voluntary  bundh was observed as part of the protest.

Addressing a protest meet, Keshav Belalu, President of Dharmasthala Gram Panchayat alleged that some religious heads and people were misusing the case to gain publicity. He also demanded probe to know the forces behind the SMS that is circulated in the taluk on the issue of the murder.

Keshav M, Taluk Panchayat President, urged that  all cases registered against innocent people who actually helped the police in the investigation should be withdrawn.

He also demanded a thorough probe into all the cases of suspicious death reported in Dharmasthala. Panchayat member Srinivas Rao, former president Haridas Gambir, Dharmasthala panchayat member Chandan Prasad Kamath, Babu Gowda, grandfather of Sowjanya were present at the protest.Dhanalakshmi Janardhan, Member of Zilla Panchayat also spoke.

A memorandum was also submitted to the Tahsildar
