Mangalore: Karnataka Beary Sahitya Academy organised ‘Beary Sangeetha Hasya Sanje’ at the Town Hall here on December 8.
Eminent humour writer Bhuvaneshwari Hegde inaugurated the meet and said that Innocent smile needs to be flourished. Literature has contributed more to the humour.
She also said that, humour never allows a man to go away. Further the muslim girls must be given more exposure to the humour and laugh, he added.
Karnataka Beary Sahitya Academy president M B Abdul Rehman presided over the event.
M A Qasim Ullal chaired a multi-language poets’ meet. Ali Kunhi Pare and Ahmed Iqbal Kannur recited poems in Beary language. Mahesh R Naik and Devika Nagesh in Kannada, NP Shetty Mulki and Raghu Idkidu in Tulu, Venkatesh Nayak and Alwyn Daanthi in Konkani. Chamera Dinesh and Karavattira Shashi Subrahani recited their poem in Kodava language.
Rahim Uchil led the comedy show while Bashir Kinya performed at the musical show.
Chandrahasa Rai B, registrar, Karnataka Beary Sahitya Academy welcomed the gathering. Riyaz Ashraf compered the programme.
