Mangalore: Rich tributes were paid to the Kargil martyrs on the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas in Mangalore on July 26, Thursday Hundreds of people lit candles near the war memorial at Kadri Hills in Mangalore at a function organized under the joint auspices of the Lions Club, Mangalore and DK District Ex-Servicemen’s Association.

Col Sharath Bhandary  who spoke on the occasion said July 26, 1999 was a great day for the nation when it registered an emphatic win over Pakistan in the Kargil war.

K C Prabhu of Lions Club, former president of Ex-servicemen Association Radhakrishna Shetty, Col Balakrishna and I N Rai were among others present on the occasion.
