Mangalore : A large number of people from all walks of life participated in the “Greenathon 2013” Our Dream Green Mangalore City Run organized in Mangalore on Sunday.
Despite the drizzle that threatened to hamper the run, more than a 1300 people took part in the Greenathon 2013 organized to sensitise the public on the need to adopt eco-friendly environment.

Greenathon – 2013 DC N Prakash flagged off the 10 km run and Mayor Gulzar Banu flagged off the 5 km run. All runners wearing a Greenathon T-shirts and placard.
Mayor Gulzar Banu handed over the prizes and medels to the winners. She said such events should be organised more often in the city. She spoke on how important to maintain the clean and green city. Director SRS Global Solution, Mangalorean, and Lions Club International District 317D orgainising the event, said that similar awareness runs would be conducted in the other districts. The main objective of organising such runs is to make people understand that they can be in good health if they adopt a healthy lifestyle.
