When Jayaraj learnt of the affair he and Ashwini quarrelled many times. On September 13, 2016, Ashwini and Anand murdered Jayaraj when he came to visit Ashwini at her native house.

The duo threw the dead body stuffed in a gunny bag and tied to a boulder into a well.

Later, Ashwini registered a missing complaint of Jayaraj with the police and Anand made two of his associates call Jayaraj’s mother to tell her that Jayaraj will be working with them to clear a loan he was not able to repay.
