New Delhi : Disgraced Rajasthan Royals spinner Ankeet Chavan, who was involved in spot-fixing scandal, broke down in police custody and has confessed to spot-fixing in IPL 6. He said greed got better of him and he has made a huge mistake.
Ankeet Chavan has been a decent bowler for Mumbai in the domestic circuit for the last five years. He has played 18 first class matches and picked up 53 wickets at an average of 36.43. Chavan was a member of the Mumbai Indians squad in the inaugural season of the IPL. He was signed by Rajasthan Royals in 2011. His arrest by the Delhi Police after Rajasthan’s match with Mumbai Indians may be the last he ever gets to play if charges levelled against him are proved.
Meanwhile, S Sreesanth, the Rajasthan Royals player, who was arrested along with his two other teammates, for his alleged involvement in spot-fixing in the IPL, has accepted that he has committed the crime, sources claimed. He, however, reportedly told the investigative officer that he was framed by the bookie Jiju Janardan.
