Mangaluru: Tamil Nadu native, 2009 batch IAS officer, Sasikanth Senthil S took charge as Dakshina Kannada district Deputy Commissioner (DC) on Thursday. Incharge Dakshina Kannada DC, Kumar handed over the charge to the IAS officer and welcomed the new DC to his chamber. Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat CEO Dr MR Ravi, Mangaluru Assistant Commissioner Renuka Prasad and other government officials were present on the occasion.

Sasikanth Senthil S was appointed as deputy commissioner (DC) of Dakshina Kannada district according to a transfer order from Karnataka state government on October 10. Previous Dakshina Kannada DC, Dr KG Jagadeesha was transferred as Director at Karnataka State Mine and Geology Department to replace Sasikanth Senthil.

Dr KG Jagadeesha was appointed as Dakshina Kannada DC on October 1, 2016. Sasikanth Senthil is an engineering graduate and has served at various parts of Karnataka including Raichur where he worked as DC. Sasikanth was appointed as director at mines and geology department on November 13, last year.
