Mangalore : IAS officer Tulasi Maddineni, former deputy commissioner of Koppal district, took charge as chief executive officer (CEO) of Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat on July 15, Monday.

Outgoing CEO KN Vijayaprakash handed over the charge to 2005 batch IAS officer.

Speaking at the press meet prior to the formal charge assuming ceremony, Vijayaprakash said that he was satisfied with implementation of several initiatives under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan and women and child welfare department.

During my tenure the district has received several awards including Nirmal Bharath Puraskar. I have already rolled out a novel scheme to uplift Koraga community through which smart cards have been issued to the 4,588 Koraga community members in the district, which contains property, house, family details and health chart.
