Mangaluru : The newly appointed Chairman of Mangaluru Development Authority (MUDA), Ibrahim Kodijal took charge of the office here on Friday, March 6.
Speaking on the occasion, Mangaluru North MLA B.A. Moiddin Bava urged Mr. Kodijal to give priority for construction of the ring road around the city as traffic congestion has become the order of the day in the central parts of the city. On his part, Mangaluru South MLA J.R. Lobo said MUDA should also give priority to develop a new residential layout to address growing demand for housing sites. He also wanted the authority to ensure systematic development of the city.
MLA Ivan D’Souza said the authority should also give attention to development of the peripheral areas of Mangaluru.
Thanking the Congress for his appointment, Mr. Kodijal said he would work for the welfare of the people without any bias. He did not make out any promises however. District in-charge Minister B. Ramanath Rai, Mayor Mahabala Marla and a number of Congress workers greeted Mr. Kodijal on the occasion.
