Mangalore : The Mangalore Branch of ICAI in association with K Ganesh Shenoy Memorial Trust, Mangalore will organize a Panel Discussion on India’s Balance Sheet at Hotel Ocean Pearl on March 24, Saturday at 3 pm.
Speaking at the press meet held at Press Club on March 22, Thursday, C A Murali Mohan, chairman of Managing Committee of the Institute for 2012-13 said that the Panel Discussion will be chaired by CA Jayanth Gokhale, chairman, Committee on Economic Commercial Laws & WTO, ICAI, New Delhi.
The event will also include the K Ganesh Shenoy Memorial Lecture on Direct Tax proposals in Union Budget 2012 by Firoze B Andhyarujina, senior counsel, Mumbai High Court and Eminent Authority on Tax Laws.
Speaking on its unique product, he said that Mangalore Branch in the current year has launched a unique programme India’s Balance Sheet in an attempt to awaken minds of citizens to the financial statements of India jointly with the Mangalore Chapter of the Economic Research Centre.
He also said that in the process of de-mystifying the budget, they have decided to conduct a series of events that would involve students and various cross sections of the society. The current programme underway is to involve professionals, students and general public for analyzing and interpreting the statement of Assets and Liabilities, receipts and expenditure of government of India.
